This Privacy Policy applies to Member Utilities and Stakeholders that interact with Mississippi 811.

2. KEY DEFINITIONS

  • Member Utility means a utility operator, utility owner, or other entity that owns or operates underground facilities and maintains membership with Mississippi 811 to receive excavation notifications, respond to locate requests as required by Mississippi law, and help prevent damage to underground facilities.
  • Stakeholder means any individual or entity that uses Mississippi 811 services or is directly involved with or directly impacted by the excavation notification, utility locating, excavation, or underground utility damage prevention process.

Mississippi 811 collects information necessary to provide excavation notification services, support damage prevention activities, maintain service records, comply with legal requirements, and protect public safety.
