Service Area Database Management

As a member of Mississippi 811 (MS811) it is your responsibility to maintain an accurate, up-to-date service area with MS811.  This is a very important part of protecting your underground infrastructure.  Doing so helps to ensure that your company will receive notifications when excavation is taking place near your underground utilities. Members are required to update their service area database on an annual basis; however, it is recommended that updates be submitted as soon as possible when new facilities are acquired or installed outside of the current service area.

Service Area Editor

MS811 will soon be deploying a new Service Area Editor (SAE) that will replace the Member Service Area Mapping (MSAM) application.  SAE is a feature that will be accessible within the MS811 Web Portal.  Like MSAM, SAE will allow members to create, maintain and edit their underground service area information.  It will also allow users to upload or download their service area data. As part of this transition, the MSAM site will be shut down on July 1st, 2022. MS811 will be reaching out to current MSAM users with information on accessing SAE prior to the shutdown of the MSAM site.  Click on the “Service Area Editor” button above to log into to SAE or click on the “Sign-Up” button to request an account.
